Wolfgang Lindemann of the Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise updated the Club about Rotary’s ongoing battle with Polio. After 35 years and billions of dollars, there is still polio in Pakistan and Afghanistan. To limit the disease that usually effects children under the age of 5 to just two countries is quite an achievement. But Rotary International remains focused on its goal of eradicating polio. The Rotary International website reports that the average cost for each oral vaccination is $ 3.00, 430 million children have been vaccinated in 39 countries in 2017 and  100 million is the cost for conducting polio surveillance worldwide.
