The Rotary Club of Simcoe's Gord Watts Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship was established in 2012 to honour one of it’s own, Gord Watts, who passed away in 2007. Gord Watts was a long time Rotarian active in all areas of the Club. He had a dental practice in Simcoe for a number of years, but was also an accomplished artist, active in the Lynnwood Arts Centre, now the Norfolk Arts Centre.
The Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating Norfolk County secondary school student who is planning to study in an interdisciplinary fine arts program such as fine art, visual art, art history, graphic design, film, photography, animation, etc. at a recognized post-secondary institution.
